Bed-ridden woman, others make it out of burning house

A family including a bed-ridden woman made it safely out of a burning house even though it took them some time to figure out it was on fire.

The fire started just before 3 p.m. at a house in the 5600 block of Crestwood Boulevard. But a family member says her brother was in the basement when it started. She believes it took him at least ten minutes to notice the fire.

Everyone including a bed-ridden woman made it out uninjured. However, there was some panic over the woman's dog. No one could find it and she believed the dog may have died in the flames. But the dog was also discovered safe 20 minutes later.
