Bentley continues jobs push, awards $200,000 for commercial development in Winfield

In an effort to createjobs and help commerce along I-22, Governor Robert Bentley has awarded aCommunity Development Block Grant to the city of Winfield.

The grant will help with the development of acommercial complex for three businesses employing 33 people. The complex willbe home to Winfield Neurology and Family Medicine, Huatulco Mexican Restaurantand Tabs Party Rentals.

This the second CDBG Bentley has awarded to aMarion County municipality in the last two weeks: He recently awarded a$200,000 grant to the town of Brilliant to help bring 20 new jobs to amanufacturing plant. In November, Bentley also supported another developmentalong I-22 with the award of $300,000 to the city of Jasper to assist in theconstruction of a commercial business complex adjacent to the interstate thatwould employ 80 people.{}{}
