Bentley hopes to use Acura MDX as business recruiting tool

"It's always a privilege to come and to be a part of a celebration like this today," Gov. Robert Bentley said.

And Alabama has reason to celebrate.

Honda Manufacturing of Alabama is now the global production source of the Acura MDX.

HMA President, Tom Shoupe, credits the workers, saying they are the true backbone of the company. And soon, their hard work will be showcased worldwide.

"We stand today at the starting line of a very important race," Shoupe said. "Soon these great Alabama made MDX products will be arriving in dealer show rooms."

Governor Bentley couldn't agree more, saying it's the workers who truly push Honda forward.

"Workers are what make a good company," he said. "And I'm very proud of these workers here at Honda."

Bentley also sees this as an opportunity. He hopes to use the MDX to show other businesses why they should set up shop in sweet home Alabama.

"As I go all over the state of Alabama, all over the country and all over the world trying to recruit industries to Alabama...everywhere I go now, when I see an Acura MDX, I will know that you made it," he said.

The 2014 Acura MDX will be on sale at Acura dealers nationwide in the coming weeks.
