      Birmingham brings Broadway

      On June 4th, PFLAG Birmingham and Equality Alabama will present "Birmingham Brings Broadway" at the Dorothy Jemison Day Theater. {}Organizers describe it as "a rainbow revue of Broadway's best LGBT-inspired showstoppers." Birmingham's Carl Dean, Kristi Tingle Higginbotham, Jan Hunter, Lonnie Parsons, and Jenna Sayqua are included in the featured performers.. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. for VIP ticket holders to enjoy a backstage "Red Carpet Reception" with catered hors d'oeuvres and wine, then the show will begin at 7:00 p.m.This is the second consecutive year for PFLAG Birmingham and Equality Alabama to partner together for a Pride Week fundraiser.{}"I believe it's important for organizations with similar missions to join together in their efforts to not only raise funds, but also to increase both organizations' outreach and impact," stated Amanda Wilson, Executive Director of PFLAG Birmingham.
