Birmingham leaders talk more program funding at meeting

More money could be on the way to improve Birmingham neighborhoods.City leaders discussed the matter Monday during a budget and finance committee meeting. A request was approved to fund ten additional neighborhoods through the "Love your Block" program. The ordinance would also carry over grants to five neighborhoods from last year."It places not only essential services but it gives back to the community and neighbors to do with what they want," says Chuck Faush, Mayor William Bell's Chief of Staff.City leaders also discussed more funding for Birmingham Municipal Court programs as well as money to improve road access to Oxmoor Valley K-8 School.
