Birmingham man, 23, charged in connection with June homicide
Authorities have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the homicide of a 29-year-old Birmingham man last month.
Antonio Williams is charged with capital murder for the death of Jerone Murphy, who was shot and killed June 16 in the 100 block of Tuscaloosa Avenue Southwest. The victim was transported to UAB Hospital, where he later died.
According to a witness, Murphy was talking to three black males inside a car before being shot by the suspect, who was sitting in the front seat.
Williams was arrested Sunday by a Birmingham Police Department Crime Reduction Team, and he is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail without bond.
