Birmingham man arrested for impersonating a police officer

      53 year old David K. Griffin of Birmingham is accused of impersonating a police officer. Vestavia Hills police say he attempted to serve a warrant.

      Vestavia Hills police were called to a business on the 600 block of Montgomery Highway around 11:45 a.m. Friday. They were told a suspicious person was impersonating a police officer and tried to serve a warrant to an employee. The suspect left before police arrived.

      Police pulled over the suspect nearby. They arrested and identified him as Griffin.

      Griffin has an outstanding warrant for a similar offense in Michigan.

      He's being held in the Jefferson County jail on a 15 thousand dollar bond.
