Birmingham Mayor to leave Friday for Ferguson
Birmingham Mayor William Bell will travel to Friday to Ferguson, Missouri, ABC 33/40 has learned.
Bell is president of the African American Mayors Association, which asked him to travel there after the unrest relating to a shooting of Mike Brown, an unarmed black teen. The city has gained national spotlight after days of protests and some riots. Tensions have sensed eased in the community.
The mayor will speak with community and local leaders in St. Louis, and possibly participate in a rally, according to a city spokesperson.
