Birmingham police arrest 5 women in prostitution sting at Courtyard by Marriott near Colonnade

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Birmingham police arrested five women in a prostitution sting operation early Friday morning, Lt. Scott Thurmond said.According to police, a vice unit conducted the operation using the internet to set up "dates" with the alleged prostitutes at the Courtyard by Marriott off Colonnade Parkway. Five women ranging in ages 20 to 43 were arrested and each were charged with solicitation for prostitution, a misdemeanor.
