Birmingham police arrest second suspect in June murder of 53-year-old man

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- Birmingham police have arrested the second of three suspects in the murder of a 53-year-old man in June.

Aronde Samuels, 20, of Birmingham, is charged with capital murder in connection with the shooting death of Arthur Mills, who died June 15 in the 1800 block of 3rd Place SW. He is the second suspect charged in the case after 22-year-old Davarius McGee was jailed on capital murder, attempted murder and first-degree robbery charges earlier this summer.

Both suspects are being held in the Jefferson County Jail without bond. According to a release, Samuels was located and taken into custody thanks to a witness coming forward with information.
