Birmingham Police officers on duty for Inauguration

More than a dozen Birmingham Police officers will be in Washington for President Obama's{}inauguration. The{}D.C. Metro Police force asked for officers to help with security, and Birmingham officers submitted their names. 14 officers were selected.

They're expected to leave tomorrow. The officers will be briefed on their assignments and duties once they arrive. Birmingham Police Spokesman Sgt. Johnny Williams says "We will work in conjunction with them as far as crowd control and any other detail that they need us to work with." The officers will return on Tuesday.
