Birmingham Police investigating homicide on 49th Court North
BIRMINGHAM - AL —
UPDATE- 2:00 p.m.
Birmingham Police report detectives are conducting a homicide investigation at 4108 49th Court North. Officers were dispatched to the residence to find a man unresponsive and lying on the floor inside the house around 10:00 Saturday morning. Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived on scene and pronounced the victim dead.
Police identify the victim as Felix McKinney, 69, of Birmingham. Evidence found has prompted investigators to classify the case as a homicide.
So far, no arrests have been made. Anyone who has information about this case is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 254-7777.
Police are on the scene of a possible homicide at a house on 49th Court North Birmingham. A man tells ABC 33/40 he and his son found his brother dead Saturday morning inside the house. They identify the victim as 69-year-old Felix McKinney. The family says the victim's house was ransacked and various items were stolen from the home, including a car.
Birmingham Police and Fire crews are still at the house. Police say the death is being investigated as a homicide.
The victim's sister-in-law says Donald McKinney found him laying on the floor in the basement.
"He check on him this morning, and happened to see him there," says Barbara McKinney. Family say his house was ransacked and various items were stolen from the home. "His car is missing, a lot of items out of his home is missing."
No arrest have been made in this case.
