Birmingham teen dies in early-morning accident in Shelby County

An early-morning wreck Friday claimed the life of a Birmingham teenager, Alabama State Troopers confirmed to ABC 33/40.

Authorities say 19-year-old Jacob Tyler Miller was killed around 2 a.m. when the vehicle he was driving struck a tree off of Shelby County 41, approximately three miles east of Hoover.

Shelby County authorities confirmed three passengers in Miller's vehicle were transported to the hospital. We're told the passengers are expected to survive.

Miller was a 2013 graduate of Oak Mountain High School and a member of North Shelby Baptist Church. The pastor said the group was returning home from bowling.
