Birmingham will host 2015 C-USA basketball tournaments

Postseason basketball is coming back to Birmingham.Conference USA announced that it's postseason basketball tournaments will be held in Birmingham in 2015. The men's tournament will be played at the BJCC, and the early rounds of the women's tournament will be played at Bartow Arena before moving to the BJCC for the semifinals and the title game.It will be the first time since 1999 that Birmingham has hosted the C-USA Basketball Tournament."My first reaction is just excitement," UAB coach Jerod Haase said. "I'm thrilled for our programs, I'm thrilled for the city of Birmingham. There's a lot of responsibility on the part of the program, on the part of the city. I think we want to get back to the roots of the program when they used to have the tournament here all the time. It's a great, great opportunity."Louisiana Tech, Southern Miss and UTEP were other potential spots for the C-USA Basketball Tournament.
