      C-130's stay put for now

AP: US Air Force C-130 Hercules cargo transport aircraft on tarmac

The Associated Press reports that the U.S. Air Force officials no longer plan to relocate C-130 aircraft. {}The original proposal would have moved them from the 908th Airlift Wing stationed at Maxwell Air Force Base.

The Maxwell Air Force Base's seven{}C-130H cargo planes were supposed to be retired as the Department of Defense got rid of older aircraft.{}The decision to keep the planes here is not final and could still affect hundreds of employees.

A statement this week from members of Alabama's Congressional delegation said the current plan no longer calls for removal of the seven aircraft from Maxwell. The AP says officials said the development is a positive one for central Alabama.
