Birmingham's first homicide victim remembered

Dozens gathered in the Wylam community Tuesday night to remember Birmingham's first homicide victim of 2014. Harold Davis, 34, was shot and killed on Erie Street Saturday night. The group "Stop the Violence" organized the vigil. Family members and friends of Davis remembered their loved one and expressed wishes to stop the violence.Wilbert Davis, the father of the victim, spoke at the vigil saying, "I thank everyone that came out here tonight, who prized and enjoyed my kid, because you know he was a good kid. And i tell you what, I'm going to miss my son. Every Sunday he ate dinner with us. Every Sunday. But you know what? This Sunday he didn't eat."A second man, Antowan Tatum, was shot in the foot when Davis was killed. He is expected to recover.
