Two victims of fatal four-vehicle accident in Blount County identified

The two victims of a fatal wreck involving four vehicles in Blount County on Friday have been identified by the coroner's office.

Paul Marin, 31, of Boaz, and Bryan Keith Reese, 22, of Red Bay, were pronounced dead on the scene after the vehicle Marin was driving collided with a 2005 Toyota Corolla at around 2 p.m. on Alabama Highway 75.

Marin was a father of two and was expected his third child in the coming weeks.

The driver of the Corolla, Kim Wood, 48, of Oneonta, along with her passenger, Margaret McKinney, 59, also of Oneonta, were transported to St. Vincent's Hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the crash.

A 2000 Jeep Cherokee and a 2008 Ford F-150 were also involved in the crash, but none of the occupants inside the vehicles were injured.

Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.


Birmingham State Troopers are working a double fatal accident on Alabama Hwy 75 between Co. Rd. 36 and Co. Rd. 26 in Blount County.

The accident happened around 2 p.m. The road was shut down for several hours.{}{}

It is unknown if there were any other injuries in the wreck.
