      Blues at Carver Theatre to join 'old' and 'new' schools

      "I'm a big believer in blues.{} It don't matter where you come from, what you look like," said Todd Simpson in an interview with ABC 33/40's Larry Miller.{}Musical legend, Henry "Gip" Gipson and Todd Simpson,24, will perform together at the Carver Theatre.{}{} The two will blend their unique styles in a creative way that is sure to touch an emotional chord with the audience.{}{}"Blues once has been the top of everything.{} It tells the story of a thousand people living in my skin type," said Gibson.{}{}Gipson said blues was once a way African Americans communicated with one another, warning people of trouble and analyzing societal problems.{}"They could send some type of message out that they couldn't speak out and it took a long time for people to know about that," said Gipson.{}Gipson and Simpson will together today September 20, 2013.
