The night before Bo Jackson's second annual Bo Bikes Bama charity ride, the two-sport legend will host a silent auction event to raise additional funds for tornado recovery in Alabama. The event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on April 26 at the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in downtown Birmingham. Tickets for the event, available at two price points, are now on sale at www.bobikesbama.com.
The event, planned by Christopher Confero Designs, will feature light hors d' oeuvres, beer and wine, a cash bar, a presentation by Jackson and a silent auction. The three levels of the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame will be open for guests to tour throughout the event. Guests will also have the opportunity to bid on high-value sports memorabilia and more.Athletes Ken Griffey Jr., Al Joyner and Picabo Street, who participated in the inaugural ride, will be in attendance in addition to other celebrity riders. Guests with a meet-and-greet ticket will have the opportunity to take photos with celebrity riders as well as Jackson before he speaks to event guests. Jackson will speak about his experience during last year's inaugural Bo Bikes Bama ride, progress that has been made through the Governor's Emergency Relief Fund and the importance of continued support. Jackson will also recognize 7-year-old Ari Hallmark, who lost five family members to the April 2011 tornadoes. Hallmark will present Jackson with a copy of a book she wrote about her experience, To Heaven After the Storm.
