Judge agrees to bond, electronic monitoring for former Homewood pastor accused in wife's murder
BIRMINGHAM - AL —
A Jefferson County judge is allowing former Homewood pastor Richard Shahan to be released on a 100 thousand bond. Shahan is charged with killing his wife inside their Homewood house in July.
Under the terms of the release, Shahan will be electronically monitored and must live with his mother in her Homewood apartment. He will also have to surrender his passport before leaving jail.
Prosecutors did object to his bond.
Shahan was arrested earlier this month in Nashville and charged with his wife's murder. ICE agents say he was attempting to leave the country.
Shahan is expected to bond out later this week. His preliminary hearing is set for February 5.
