Botched drug deal leads to deputy-involved shooting in Roebuck
BIRMINGHAM - AL — Jefferson County Chief Deputy Randy Christian says a deputy interrupted a drug deal and shot a suspect.It happened just after 9 o'clock Friday night in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Birmingham's Roebuck community. The suspect fled and as he tried to hit a deputy with a vehicle, the deputy fired a shot, striking the suspect.The suspect went to UAB Hospital. His condition is unknown.No word on any other injuries.
