Update: Standoff Situation in Pleasant Grove Wednesday afternoon

38-year-old Jeffrey Browning returned to his ex-wife's house on the 800 block of 10th Way in Pleasant Grove. {}Browning fired a shot into the floor and scared his ex-wife. She ran and called police. {}Once they arrived, there was no answer at the door. {}Police then broke into the house. Investigators found "shrines" to his ex-wife complete with notes and pictures. {}Police say Browning shot and killed himself and describe the scene as "unusual." The coroner is now inside. The ex-wife was not injured.{}


The standoff is over. The suspect has taken his own life.


Officials with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and the Pleasant Grove Police Department are on the scene of a standoff situation on the 800 block of 10th Way in Pleasant Grove.

Police tell ABC 33/40 a 26-year-old man barricaded himself in a house. {}SWAT team negotiators are on the scene. We have a crew on the way and will update you as soon as we can.
