Brides Against Breast Cancer: Discounted gowns for charity

Around this time of year, many brides-to-be are in a frantic panic to line up all the details of their nuptials.{} A nationwide tour is helping women take care of their checklist, while helping a major cause at the same time.{} Friday, February 21 and Saturday, February 22, Brides Against Breast Cancer will bring its tour of gowns to Birmingham.{} That means wedding dresses and more, in shapes from four to 18, will be available from designers, manufacturers, and bridal shops. {}Nearly 1,000 designer and brand name wedding gowns will be at the Tutwiler - Hampton Inn at 2021 Park Place for the weekend.{} Some of the gowns begin at just $99 and others have a value of up to $4,000.{} They'll be marked with 25% to 85% discounts, with proceeds of the sale going to support cancer patients and their families.The nationwide tour of gowns will be held from 6:00 until 10:00 p.m. Friday and then, Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.{} Last year, $2 million was raised during the tour of gown and funded free programs and services for those impacted by cancer.
