Bridge Replacement Project on U.S. Highway 78 Requires Road Closure

Weather permitting, U.S. Highway 78 (State Route 4) between mile markers 125-126 will be closed to traffic beginning Tuesday, April 30 during the Alabama Department of Transportation's project to replace the bridge at Cane Creek.

Traffic will be detoured onto I-20 using Exit 147 (Brompton), Exit 152 (Cook Springs) and Exit 153 (Chula Vista).

The $974,000 project is expected to take approximately six months to complete. The bridge will remain closed for the duration of the project.

Motorists must use alternate routes, observe work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area.
