Arbor Day came early for students at Birmingham Southern College.
A group of students from the Urban Environmental Studies program came out to help celebrate Alabama's Arbor Day. The day is traditionally celebrated at the end of April but because of the weather, the garden club decided to start today.
The community garden will now be transformed to a orchard and berry field.
"It's something that's long term. They probably wont see the fruits of it. Some of them are seniors, so hopefully when they come back as Alumni they'll see the actual orchard," says coordinator William Holt.
