Calhoun County receives grant for jail improvements

TheCalhoun County Commission has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the AlabamaDepartment of Economic and Community Affairs, Energy Division.{} The award will allow improvements to be madeat the Calhoun County Jail.{} The plan isto make energy efficient HVAC upgrades in the jail.

Thetotal cost of the project is $30,000 with Calhoun County covering the remaining$10,000 for the project.{} The projectmust be completed by September 29.

Theupgrades will allow for more efficient operation and reduce heating and coolingcosts.
