Cancellations because of T.S. Karen

As Tropical Storm Karen approaches the gulf coast, weekend events are taking the impending changes in weather into account.{} Several events have already been canceled.{} Many people had plans to travel to Florida.{} The Santa Rosa Island Triathlon has now been canceled.{} The sold out event had 1,200 people registered to participate.{} Many of the participants were traveling from out of town and staying on Pensacola Beach.{} The Destin Seafood Festival was scheduled to start Friday.{} However, at this point, there is no talk of rescheduling the event.In Mobile, Alabama, the big event happening this weekend is The Bayfest music festival.{} Organizers say they will try to keep as much of the show going as possible.{} The lineup includes performances from the Zac Brown Band, Godsmack, T.I. and R.Kelly.Gulf Shores city spokesman Grant Brown says evacuations aren't anticipated, but officials are still taking precautions.{} Gulf Shores moved its lifeguard stands off the beach to higher ground.The Estuarium at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab was closed because of the storm, same as the Mobile Bay Ferry.
