Car accident with injuries closes Shelby Co. Hwy. 11 at Old Hwy. 280

Deputies have reopened Shelby County Highway 11 after a two-vehicle accident temporarily shutdown traffic at the intersection of Highway 377.


The Shelby County Sheriff's Office reports that a car accident with injuries has shut down traffic on Highway 11 at the intersection of Highway 377, or Mountain Crest Road.

The accident happened at 1:52 p.m. Tuesday and deputies on the scene have closed Hwy. 11 at Hwy. 377 and at Old Highway 280.{} Due to the location of this crash, traffic will not be able to utilize Hwy. 11 to reach Old Hwy. 280.

Motorists are encouraged to drive with caution, seek alternate travel routes and be patient as first responders help the injured and clear the roadway.{} The traffic congestion from this accident will create serious travel delays.{} This release will be updated as soon as the roadway is open to traffic again.
