The Carver High School choir and the school's drama department are putting on a special presentation for Black History Month, Wednesday, February 27.
The choir will be singing spiritual and traditional songs from the civil rights movement era. The drama department will perform excerpts from the play, "The Ballad of Birmingham". The play is about the 1963 bombing of Sixteenth Street Baptist Church. Bobby Stringer is directing the performance.
The event will be at The Birmingham Public Library in the Arrington Auditorium. It is part of the library's brown bag series. Guests are invited for free and are encouraged to bring their own lunch, although some refreshments will be served.
