Center Point man arrested for attempted murder after stabbing girlfriend's father

Jeffrey Glen Wicks, 28, of Center Point is charged with Attempted Murder.

A 28-year-old Center Point man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after stabbing his girlfriend's father during an altercation Monday night.Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies were called to an apartment in the 24th block of 15th Terrace Northeast in Center Point just after 7:30 p.m. last night to investigate a fight. Upon arriving, deputies found a man in the entry way to the apartment building bleeding from stab wounds to his neck and back.Following an investigation, deputies determined that the victim was attacked after an argument with his daughter's boyfriend, Jeffrey Glen Wicks, regarding the way Wicks yelled at the woman. Wicks allegedly began making threats to the victim before pulling out a knife and stabbing the man several times. Wicks was still on scene while deputies investigated the incident and was eventually taken into custody. He is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail with bond set at $30,000.

The victim's condition is unknown at this time.
