Chaplain offers condolence to slain officers family

The last week has been filled with turmoil for the Birmingham Police Department. But in times like these, they're encouraged to come together to honor their fallen brother.{} Police, as family and loved ones of officer Keary Hollis have been speaking with the department chaplain. Officer hollis was shot late Saturday night after an alleged dispute. 40-year-old Patrick Johnson is charged with capital murder in Hollis' death. Right now, pastor Darryl Lee says the Birmingham Police Department is resilient, even in the face of tragedy. "This has been a long, tragic, tragic weekend. But in the midst of it, we remain focused and we also maintain our resilience," says LeeRight now, Birmingham police aren't providing any response to the capital murder charge, except that they are continuing to interview witnesses who have come forward with vital information and that this investigation is ongoing.
