Charges in animal hoarding case could come soon

The Etowah County District Attorney's office says the owner of animals removed from a Gadsden home will be charged with a misdemeanor or a felony depending on the medical{} examination of the animals. Charges could come by week's end.

More than 100 animals are being held at the Humane Society of Etowah County. Authorities there say they can{}bathe and feed the animals, but cannot treat them with medication until a judge gives an order.{} It is unclear when that could happen.
