Chase leads to attempted murder, robbery and possession charges


A Tuscaloosa man is facing robbery, attempted murder and firearm possession charges after a traffic stop. {}On Thursday, November 15, patrol officers attempted to pull over a vehicle that matched a description of a vehicle used in a robbery at the Raceway Service Station from the night before. {}It was in the early morning hours, around 4:30 a.m. {}Police say the vehicle did not stop and a short pursuit took place until the suspect vehicle wrecked on Highpoint Drive. {}No other vehicles were involved in the crash.Demardus Antinio Tarver was taken into custody and transported to the Tuscaloosa Police Department for questioning. Criminal Investigators interviewed the suspect and during the interview they say enough probable cause was found to arrest him for 3 counts of Robbery 1st Degree and Possession of an Altered Firearm.He was placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail pending a $255,000.00 Bond. More charges are pending.{}
