Chase suspect arrested on multiple charges


DeKalb County sheriff's officials say a northeast Alabama man who led police on a freeway chase has been charged with attempting to elude police, drug and weapons charges and non-payment of child support.Sheriff Jimmy Harris says deputies were trying to pull over 39-year-old William Goodale of Henagar on Interstate 59 Monday night when he refused to stop.Harris says Goodale was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of the freeway and authorities tried spiking his tires. Officials say the man eventually fled on foot and was arrested after a short search.Harris says authorities found two ounces of methamphetamine, three stolen guns and four other firearms in the car.Authorities say Goodale is being held on $33,000 bond in the county jail. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
