Chemical in Tide could cause cancer
(CNN) - According to the New York Times, Tide detergent may expose you to a cancer-causing chemical.
The detergent contains trace amounts of "dioxane."
The Environmental Protection Agency finds that "dioxane" may cause cancer in lab rats.
Environmental and health advocacy groups have asked Procter-and-Gamble to change the formula.
A Procter-and- Gamble toxicologist says the amount of the chemical in Tide is well below the safety risk level.
