Chilton Medical Center to cease operations

The Alabama Department of Public Health has suspended the license of Clanton Hospital, L.L.C., to operate the Chilton Medical Center as a hospital.

Clanton Hospital, L.L.C. has insufficient funds to pay employees.

ADPH notified Clanton Hospital, L.L.C. of its intention to revoke the businesses' license to operate a hospital on October 2, 2012.{} The notice was based upon "deficiencies, including the hospital's inability to meet financial obligations, and failure to have an effective governing authority."

Then on October 29, 2012, ADPH found that the hospital did not have enough money to pay employees.

A hearing will be held on November 8, 2012.
