Christopher Patton found guilty of murder in 2012 pipe-beating death of elderly Tuscaloosa man

{}TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- Christopher Patton, the man accused in the 2012 pipe-beating death of an elderly Tuscaloosa man, was found guilty of murder by a jury Thursday.

Patton was on trial for the murder of 79-year-old Kenneth McDaniel, who was killed outside his home on Highway 43 North July 17, 2012. Patton is said to have lured the victim outside by disabling his air conditioning unit. When McDaniel went to the side of his home where the AC was located, he was struck several times in the head with a pipe.
