Church dedicates storm shelter
A Fayette, Alabama church becomes a shelter for life and nature's storms.
Unity Baptist Church held a special service Sunday, dedicating a new family center and storm shelter. Church Pastor Phillip Clark says nearly a dozen of his members were impacted by the April 27th tornadoes. But now they have refuge in case of emergencies. The church's storm shelter is 500 square feet and can hold up to 100 people.
Clark says the congregation continues to raise money for the facility, which costs more than $200,000. It also includes classrooms, recreational facilities and a kitchen.
