A public meeting will be held Tuesday night to reveal the results of a feasibility study regarding the possibility of Gardendale forming its own school system separate of the Jefferson County Schools system.

Dr. Ira Harvey, hired in 2012 to conduct the city-wide study, will provide the results at the meeting to be held at the Gardendale Civic Center at 6:30 p.m. The Gardendale City Council granted $40,000 for the proposed study, one that has been discussed for over a year by a group called FOCUS --{} Future of Our Community Utilizing Schools.

The support group suggests schools including Gardendale High , Bragg Middle, Gardendale Elementary, Snow Rogers Elementary and Mt. Olive Elementary be removed from the Jefferson Co. system.
