C.J. Mosley is the latest Alabama player to pass on a Senior Bowl invitation.
NFL Media senior analyst Gil Brandt reported that the 2013 Butkus Award winner will not play in the game.
The news is not a surprise to Senior Bowl executive director Phil Savage, who thinks the risk is greater than the reward of playing in the game.
"C.J. is committed to us," Savage told AL.com on Wednesday, "but I honestly don't think he's going to end up playing. I think with his draft status in the top 10, top 15, no worse than top 20, I think ultimately he'll bypass the game."
A pair of Tide teammates, quarterback AJ McCarron and cornerback Deion Belue did not accept invitations to play.
Mosley and McCarron grew up in the Mobile area, just a few minutes drive from Ladd-Peebles Stadium which is the site of the Reese's Senior Bowl.
This year's game will be played on Saturday, Jan. 25.
