Convicted killer to be sentenced Monday for death of Border Patrol agent

      Border Patrol agent Brian Terry was killed during a shootout in Dec. 2010.

      A Mexicanman is scheduled to be sentenced in federal court in Phoenix today for thekilling of a U.S. Border Patrol agent whose death revealed a botched lawenforcement sting called Fast and Furious.

      Prosecutorswant Manuel Osorio-Arellanes to serve 30 years in prison for the shooting deathof Agent Brian Terry in December 2010.

      Theshootout brought to light that agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco,Firearms and Explosives allowed suspected gun smugglers to buy weapons from Phoenixarea gun shops with the intention of tracking them to Mexican drug cartels.{} Agents lost track of most of the weapons.

      Of the 2,000 weapons purchased,more than 1,400 were unaccounted for.{}Two of those guns were found at the scene of Agent Terry's death.{} More guns were found at crime scenes inMexico.
