County, city crews enter weather activation mode


Jefferson County and surrounding city leaders went into weather preparedness activation mode Monday night.Members of the fire, police, road departments and other groups began working inside the Jefferson County EMA office in downtown Birmingham.Crews are in what's called "Level Three" activation, which means other agencies are also on standby including the Red Cross and the local Department of Human Resources..EMA officer Horace Walker tells ABC 33/40 the National Weather Service's Birmingham office will brief crews on weather conditions at the office beginning at 5 a.m. Tuesday.Stay with ABC 33/40 for more on this developing story.
