Deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office responded to a robbery in progress at a sandwich shop on Forestdale Boulevard last night.

The first deputy arrived on the scene one minute after the call was dispatched.{} He learned a male suspect in a maroon hoodie had entered the store with a handgun. He demanded money and then left in a white Chevrolet pickup truck driven by another man. A description of the suspects and their vehicle was immediately broadcast to other responding units. Deputies in the area later spotted the suspect vehicle traveling along East Bayonne Drive and initiated a traffic stop and took the pair into custody.

Deputies arrested 41-year-old Jeffrey Busby of Fultondale and David Busby of Gravsville. Cash and handgun were also found in the suspect's truck. Investigators say neither of the suspects admitted to committing the robbery, but Jeffrey Busby told detectives he needed the money to buy Christmas presents for his daughter and support his heroin addiction. Both are facing charges of Robbery first-degree. They are being held in the Jefferson County jail.
