It was January 12, 2008, when the body of Fredric Rogers was found in his burning car in the Wylam community.
Police were called to the scene on 15th Avenue and Jersey Street after a neighbor heard a loud boom around 7:30 am. The car caught fire, but detectives said Rogers had been shot and killed before the blaze began.
Robbery is believed to be the motive, but police have no suspects at this time. It's unclear whether Rogers knew his killer.
