HIGHLAND AVENUE GAS STATION ROBBERY:
Birmingham detectives need your help solving an armed robbery that happened at a gas station on the 2100 block of Highland Ave. around 5 a.m. August 16.
A picture of the suspect is posted to the right of this story. He also has a distinctive scar on his left hand.
"He comes in the store, mingles about for just a moment, and waits for the clerk to go back," said Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Brian Allison.
The suspect pointed a gun at the clerk and reached for the cash. He took an undetermined amount and left on foot.
"We've got basically all the clues that we need," said Sgt. Allison. "We just need someone to help us put together the puzzle."
ADULT BOOKSTORE ROBBERY:
Birmingham police also need your help solving an armed robbery that happened at an adult bookstore on 1st Avenue North August 22 around 5 a.m.
That morning, two black males, whose pictures are posted to the right of this story, entered the store armed with a shotgun and handgun. They took cash from the register, robbed the store manager, and left on foot.
"At this point, we have no facial recognition of the suspects," said Birmingham Police Detective Pat Green. "We are definitely going to need the public to be listening in hopes that these guys will talk about this particular incident."
