'Bama RB Yeldon suspended for 1st quarter of Colorado St. game for throat-slash gesture
Alabama running back T.J. Yeldon has been suspended for the first quarter of Saturday's game against Colorado, according to a report from the Anniston Star.
Nick Saban decided to temporarily bench the star sophomore for a throat-slash gesture he made during last week's win over Texas A&M.
Yeldon apologized for his actions earlier this week saying, "That is not the way I want to represent myself, my family and our team."
The suspension will open the door for two talented freshmen to tote the rock against the Rams, at least for the first 15 minutes anyway. Altee Tenpenny (6'0, 207 pounds) and Derrick Henry (6'3, 238 pounds) are both listed as backups to second-string running back Jalston Fowler, but all three should see plenty of carries in the game.
