Daycare centers adjust with fewer children
In this economy, many parents are finding difficult to afford childcare.
In fact, local daycare directors say they've been forced to adjust with fewer children. Managers say they've cut staffing, altered programs and delayed renovations just to make ends meet. Some have even started new payment plans for parents whose budgets are stretched to the limit.
One Forestdale daycare owner says she even allowed a couple of parents to catch up on payments using their income tax refunds.
A recent study ranks Alabama as one of the top ten most affordable states for annual, full-time child care.
