MCCALLA, Alabama -- Forensics experts are working to identify a body found in McCalla. A man bush-hogging discovered the body. Sharon Huggins lives on Pineview Road. She was running errands with her children when Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies heard about the body. {}"We saw three police cars heading this way," said Huggins. Deputies rushed to a field across from Huggins' home. "We hurried home because it was just one of those things...they are heading to our house. We pulled up and they were by the gate," added Huggins.{} Deputies began a death investigation. The body was on the ground almost a mile from Huggins' porch. Investigators told ABC 33/40 the body was decomposed. No one was able to reveal if the person was a man or woman. "We don't worry where we live. We have lived in rougher neighborhoods. We've lived in more rural neighborhoods. We just don't worry," added Huggins.{} Investigators would not tell how the person died. We've learned investigators don't believe foul play was involved.Huggins used the investigation as an opportunity to have a talk with her children."This is a teachable moment. In cases like this, there is an urgency to preach Christ to a lost and dying world. So, that is what we did," added Huggins.{} Deputies took pictures at the scene and collected evidence around the body should they need it. Jefferson County's Chief Deputy told ABC 33/40 the investigator's main focus is to get the body identified. Forensics experts will rely on dental and medical records to make that happen.
