Denny Hamlin won't fight NASCAR punishment for public comments

Denny Hamlin has decided not to appeal this month's fine for publicly criticizing the Gen-6 car. NASCAR will take $25,000 out of his race winnings.

Hamlin initially said he would fight NASCAR's punishment. He backed off that stance on Thursday on Twitter, saying that he did not want to drag his Joe Gibbs Racing team through the appeals process.

{}NASCAR introduced the new Gen-6 car before this season. After the second race of the season, Hamlin told reporters that he didn't think the new car drove much better than the old car.
