Two death cases may be linked. A woman and her daughter are found dead inside their apartment near Hoover. Family members say a man found dead in Fairfield is the father. The woman's son survived, and was air-lifted to Children's of Alabama in critical condition.

"Those kids were his heart, especially that little girl." People living at the Park at Rocky Ridge Apartments came home to find out the unimaginable. Portia Key says "It's very sad, they were a good family and the kids seemed good and active kids. I always heard them running around upstairs."

30-year-old Tiffany Bozeman and her 3 year-old daughter Gabrielle Menefee were found dead inside their apartment just before noon. Bozeman's son, 5 year old Davieon Menefee was found wounded. The Jefferson County Sheriff's office says all three appeared to have been shot.

Lt. David Agee says "We've had to witness some very sad scenes and this is one of those days." The sheriff's office is calling the case an apparent murder suicide.

Sha'kela Menefee says her uncle, Brandon Menefee, who was found dead in his car in Fairfield Wednesday morning, was Bozeman's boyfriend and the father of the children. After hearing news about her uncle, Menefee says a friend rushed over to the couple's apartment. "It's not like her to not answer the phone. So, we sent a friend to come check on her and that's when she found her and the two kids laying in the floor."

Lt. Agee says "Detectives are working hard to determine what happened." Neighbors say the family lived here and spent a lot of time at the playground on the property. Kioshia Crenshaw says the couple loved each other and their children. "They would sit over there and watch the kids play, she would. He would come out, the kids playing. They were happy and loving to me."

The sheriff's office is not saying much more except they're working with Fairfield investigators trying to gather all information possible relating to both cases.
